Merger-ringdown consistency: A new test of strong gravity using deep learning

The gravitational waves emitted during the coalescence of binary black holes are an excellent probe to test behaviour strong gravity. In this paper, we propose a new called `merger-ringdown consistency test` that focuses on probing imprints dynamics in strong-gravity around black-holes plunge-merger and ringdown phase. Furthermore, present scheme allows us efficiently combine information across multiple observations perform statistical null GR using detected BH population. We proof-of-concept study for simulated hole ringdowns embedded next-generation ground-based detector noise. demonstrate feasibility our deep learning framework, setting precedence performing precision tests gravity with neural networks.
